Foundations of Emotional Intelligence in Hospitality
Lead the feeling, and the team follows
Written by Kledis Brahimi, Founder of DolceVita Hospitality · 33 pages
Every hotel runs on conversations. A guest at the desk who did not get the room they booked. A bartender whose shift has moved again. A receptionist who wants the next role before she is ready for it. Each of these lasts a minute or two, and each one changes how the next hour goes for everyone nearby.
I wrote this book for the person in the middle of those conversations: the supervisor, the head of department, the team leader who sets the tone of a shift by walking onto it. It comes from the DolceVita Method©, the way DolceVita teaches emotional intelligence to hotel teams, and it starts where the Method starts, with three small tools: mirroring, labelling and dynamic silence. You can learn each of them in an afternoon and keep refining them for years.
From there, the book follows the people you lead through the situations you meet most often. You will find chapters on frustration, on upset, on performance that slips, on ambition, on friction between colleagues, and on the conversations you would rather postpone. Each chapter gives you a structure, the words to use, and an exercise to try on your own or with your team.
Read it in order the first time. After that, keep it close and open the chapter you need before the conversation you are about to have. The tools change things only when you use them, so try one tomorrow and notice what happens.

Where to go from here
The DolceVita Method© teaches these tools to hotel teams and their managers, so a whole department practises them together and uses the same language on every shift. You can find out how it works at dolcevitahospitality.com/method.
